Bishop’s Fund –This Fund supports our Diocese of Stamford, helps Ukrainian
seminaries in Ukraine and assists other spiritual needs of our Ukrainian
Catholic Church. Please be generous in your contributions.
2.
Food for the Poor - The Watervliet-Green Island Food
Pantry is preparing for the summer. Donations of canned and boxed foods
are needed. God has blessed us with many gifts, let us share our blessings
with others and, in this way, we give thanks to God for all He gives to
us.
3.
Bulletin – will be printed every second week. Please submit your
announcements early.
4.
Centennial Books—Additional Centennial Books are available by
contacting Helen Koshykar at 477-4490 or Barbara Zavisky at 273-0204.
5.
Parking: A number of our
parishioners drive to church but have difficulty walking. To help
them park closer, please refrain from parking in front of
the church and for a reasonable distance on the 24th Street side on
Sundays and holidays, unless you have difficulty walking yourself.
6.
Polish Day—Shrine
of the N. American Martyrs at Auriesville, Sun., Aug. 24, 2008. Devotions
begin at 2:00 pm. With Stations of the Cross; recitation of the Rosary;
Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament; confessions in Polish and English
from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. And Mass in the Coliseum at 4:00 pm. With Bishop
Francis R. Reiss, D.D., Main Celebrant and Homilist. Sponsored by Polish
American Congress.
7.
Dormition Pilgrimage -
will
be held in Sloatsburg, NY on August 9-10. Our church has arranged for a
bus, which will depart on Sunday August 10 at 6:30 AM and will return at
about 6:00 PM. Please sign your name in the back of the Church if you are
interested in attending. The contribution is $15 when you board the bus
for parishioners and $25 from guests.
