Home Blessing with Jordan’s Holy Water 

Jordan’s Home Blessing 

–      For this blessing, a small altar (table) should be prepared so that everyone can gather before it, preferably facing the east.  On the altar which can be a table, place a white cloth covering, a candle and cross, a container of blessed water brought from church, and any religious articles you want blessed.

Priest: Blessed is our God always, now and ever, and forever.

Family:  Amen

Priest:    Glory be to You, our God, glory be to You.

Family:  Heavenly King, Advocate, Spirit of Truth, Who are everywhere present and fill all things, Treasury of Blessings, Bestower of Life, come and dwell within us; cleans us of all that defiles us, and O Good one, save our souls.

    +Holy God, Holy & Mighty, Holy & Immortal, have mercy on us. (3)

   + Glory be to the Father & to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever and ever.  Amen.

Trinity most holy, have mercy on us. Cleanse us of our sins. O Lord; pardon our transgressions, O Master; look upon our weak­nesses and heal them, O Holy One; for the sake of Your name.

Lord, have mercy. (3)

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

Priest: + For the kingdom, the power and the glory are Yours, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and forever and ever.

Priest: Bow your heads to the Lord.

Family: To you o Lord.

Priest: Our God and Savior Jesus Christ, the True Light, who was baptized by John in the Jordan to renew all men by the water of regeneration, who with Your presence sanctified the house of Abraham, and entered the house of Zacchaeus, to bring salvation to him and his household:

Do you now also, o Lord, bless this house and all who dwell in it.  Grant them health, strength and salvation, peace and prosperity; and grant all their petitions that are for their salvation and for everlasting life.

   Family: Amen.

Tropar  Tone 1:

When You, o Lord, were baptized in the Jordan,* worship of the Trinity was revealed;* the voice of the Father bore witness to You,* naming You the “beloved Son”,* and the Spirit in the form of s dove confirmed the Words’ certainty.* Glory to you, O Christ God, who appeared and enlightened the world.

Today You have appeared to the world,* and your light, O Lord, has been signed on us, who with knowledge sign Your praises,* You have come, You have appeared, O unapproachable Light!

    Family: Lord have mercy

Priest: Almighty God we sincerely pray to You for this home and for those who dwell in it.  Bless and sanctify them and grant them all good things in abundance. Bestow upon them, O Lord, and abundance of heavenly blessings and earthly riches which they may need in their lives.  Guide them through their whole lives in health and happiness.  For you are good and loving God, and we give glory to You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and forever.

Family: Amen.

Priest: By the sprinkling of this holy water, may the Lord grant His blessing to this home and all it contains, and make it a peaceful dwelling place in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Dismissal

Priest:   Glory to you, Christ God, our hope!  Glory to you.

Family:  Glory be:  Now and always:  Lord, have mercy.  (3).  Bless us!

Priest:   May Christ our true God who deigned to be baptized by John in the Jordan for the sake of our salvation, through the prayers of his pure Mother, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, for he is good and loves mankind.
